It was in 1994 that the doctor, along with his wife and three children, made the move to Paris. Still involved in general medicine, Dr. Akerman has been treating area patients of all ages ever since.
This transplanted Canadian has put down Edgar County roots in more ways than one. Dr. Akerman is a devoted gardner who coaxes a rainbow of flowers into bloom throughout the growing season.

Involved in general practice in Truro, Nova Scotia

Began practice at the Family Medical Center in Paris and became a member
of the Paris Community Hospital medical staff.
